SOM Foundation Postpones the Call for the 2022 China Fellowship due to COVID-19
The SOM Foundation and its Board of Officers have been closely monitoring the ongoing restrictions affecting China created by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While we opened the call for submissions in January and extended the deadline for the 2022 China Fellowship, the ongoing restrictions are preventing us from moving forward with this year’s edition of the fellowship. For that reason and, after evaluating the current situation, we have decided to postpone the call until 2023.
We have always valued the importance of supporting emerging practitioners and do not take this decision lightly. Due to the closing of academic institutions, and the strict local and global travel restrictions in place, it would be impossible to fully and responsibly achieve the goals of the award. We wouldn’t want to compromise our community of fellows and the impact of the awards in any way.
Those students that have already submitted their applications will be contacted directly and invited to submit a new application next year, even if they have already graduated from their programs. We look forward to receiving your proposals next year.
